How physiotherapy works here
Physiotherapy is often pictured as hands-on treatment on a plinth. Some of it is. But the part that changes outcomes is usually what happens between appointments: the right loading, the right progression, and a program a person will actually keep doing.
So we spend the first session working out what is limiting you and what you want back. Walking to the shops without stopping. Getting off the floor after playing with grandchildren. Returning to work. Sleeping through the night. Then we build the plan backwards from that, and we are honest about how long it is likely to take.
Programs get reviewed and changed. If something is not working after a fair trial, we would rather say so and try a different approach than keep repeating it because it was on the original plan.

Frequently asked questions
What people ask us most before booking a physiotherapy appointment.
Do I need a referral to see a physiotherapist?
No. You can book directly as a private client. A GP referral under a Chronic Condition Management Plan is only needed if you want the appointment bulk billed at our Darra clinic.
How many sessions will I need?
It depends on what we are working on and where you are starting from. We will give you a realistic range after the first assessment rather than a number picked before we have seen you, and we review it as we go.
Will I get exercises to do at home?
Almost certainly, and how much you do between sessions usually matters more than what happens in the room. We keep programs short and specific, because a program nobody does is worth nothing.
Can you see me at home?
Yes. We travel across Brisbane, Logan, Ipswich, Moreton Bay, the Redlands and the Gold Coast for home and community visits. Bulk billing applies to clinic appointments only.
Do you work with NDIS participants?
Yes, for self-managed and plan-managed participants. We are not currently an NDIS-registered provider, so we cannot invoice the NDIA directly for agency-managed participants.
I have had physio before and it did not help. Why would this be different?
It might not be, and we will say so if we think another approach or another clinician is a better fit. What we can promise is that we will be specific about what we are trying, why, and how we will know whether it is working.
What should I wear?
Clothing you can move in, and that lets us see the area we are assessing. Shorts for a knee or hip, a singlet or loose top for a shoulder. Bring the shoes you wear most.
