Ingrown toenail management
An ingrown toenail can make walking, work and even wearing shoes miserable. Most cases settle quickly with the right treatment, and there is plenty we can do to stop them coming back.
How we help
Conservative treatment
Careful removal of the offending nail edge and clearing of the nail sulcus, usually with immediate relief.
Nail surgery
For nails that keep returning, a minor procedure under local anaesthetic to permanently narrow the nail edge.
Infection management
Assessment and treatment of infected toes, with onward referral for antibiotics where that is needed.
Preventing recurrence
Cutting technique, footwear and pressure advice so the same problem does not keep returning.
